Bihar records over 1800 cases of Dengue in 2013

Bihar has witnessed over 1800 cases of Dengue this year which includes 3 deaths . A Government estimate says that Dengue has spread in more than two-third area of the State. The numbers are increasing exponentially and victims are being treated in Government and Private Hospitals.

Rohtas district has been marked most affected with Dengue with 1127 reported cases this year. Bhabua stands second with 305 reported cases, according to Bihar Government estimate. The State Capital Patna comes third with 105 cases of Dengue reported in 2013. The 3 deaths are reported each in Rohtas, Bhabua and Nawada district.

The Government is providing free medical treatment to the dengue victims in State run Hospitals. 23 Dengue patients are presently admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital. Sadar Hospitals in various districts have created special ward for Dengue patients in order to prevent further spread of the disease among other patients.
