The Bihar State Haj Committee would make arrangement of ferry of pilgrims to Gaya Airport.

Earlier there was some trouble over the timings of the Flights from Gaya as the first flight from the Airport was to depart at 7:30 AM, which could make it difficult for pilgrims coming from remote location to catch the flight.

The Return of Pilgrims from Haj would commence from October 24  and continue till November 17.

Bihar has a quota of 10,000 pilgrims every year. The remaining seats would be allotted to pilgrims from other states like Uttar Pradesh.

Since this year, there has been a major policy change towards the subsidized Haj Pilgrimage which restricts the number of Pilgrimages to a Haj Applicant through Haj Committee of India to “Once in a life time” as against the existing “Once in five years”.

This has been done to ensure that a Haj Pilgrim benefits from Government of India subsidy only once in his / her life time. It will also ensure that priority is given to those who have never performed Haj.
