Delhi tops in making calls to National Consumer Helpline

Consumers from Delhi have made the highest number of complaints to the Toll Free National Consumer Helpline during October 2013. In total 3020 complaints originated from Delhi followed by Uttar Pradesh (2160) and Maharashtra (1687).

Bihar came at 8th Position with only 527 Complaints during the month, preceded by Haryana, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Gujarat.

Sector wise, the Product sector recorded maximum complaints i.e. 25.67%. It was followed by Telecom, E-Commerce, Weights & Measures, Non Banking Financial Companies, Banking and Education.

The number of responses to complaints received during October is 1675. Out of this, 1409 complaints were responded to by various companies under convergence. 266 consumers either called back on the helpline to inform that their complaint has been resolved or informed of the resolution of their complaint through email/fax/letter.

Consumers from across the country can access the toll free National Consumer Help Line No. 1800-11-400 and seek telephonic counseling for consumer related problems faced by them.
