In 2012, two Indian brothers living in United States started Sevacall.com, a website to connect local technicians to the households. Within one year, Sevacall has registered over 7 Lakh successful Business Engagements. Manpreet Singh (aged 28) and Gurpreet Singh run America’s one of the largest Business making Online community, which connects consumers to the right service professionals by phone.
Seva Call (Save-A-Call) is a free, algorithm-based, virtual concierge service that lets consumers compare top-rated, available businesses that work on the consumers’ schedule. It has raised $1.3 million in Series-A funding last year.Sevacall is available in about 50 cities of USA, the latest being New Orleans where it was launched today.
People often risk spending hours researching and calling various service professionals if looking the traditional ways, but with Seva Call, it takes mere minutes.
To quickly connect to available service professionals, Consumers just visit http://www.sevacall.com and enter their location, availability and a description of the problem at hand. Seva Call’s algorithm filters through its Local Business Database and selects the best matches based on proximity, availability, the job needed and even quality control measures like online consumer ratings and reviews, social media interactions, and call analytics. The consumer is then connected with up to three pros in their area within minutes.
In over 50 service categories like Plumbers, Painting, and Heating and Cooling, Seva Call saves consumers time and energy while finding the skilled professionals who match their schedules, service their needs, and answer their questions right away. All of this without compromising personal privacy or charging membership fees.
“Supporting small and locally owned businesses has always been the right thing and the best thing for a great customer experience, but it’s never been the easy thing,†said Seva Call founder Manpreet Singh, “until now.â€
Seva Call is also an effective tool for businesses that find traditional marketing and lead generation too costly and risky. With Seva Call, top-rated local businesses preview service request details for free by phone, text or email and are given the option to accept or reject the referral based on the details provided. This saves company time, and money, as Seva Call only charges a flat-rate when the business has a conversation with a consumer.
Rex Hayden of JDI Windows raved that, after signing up with Seva Call, his first referral turned into an $11,000 job. Since Seva Call does not take a percentage of any business’ revenue, Hayden only paid a low pre-negotiated rate for that highly profitable contract and potentially life-long professional relationship.
The Seva Call team will launch its iPhone and Android app in the near future to provide instant responsiveness to service needs far from home.
The Singh Brothers, Manpreeet and Gurpreet had established themselves as Entrepreneurs since a long time. In the late 1990s, when they were still teenagers, Manpreet and Gurpreet started an online social media site similar to Facebook that specifically targeted South Asian-Americans called Desi Vibes. The site was a hit, and helped Manpreet gain name recognition among hundreds of thousands of people in his community.
Manpreet left Desi Vibes to work at an investment firm called Profit Investment Management when he was just 17. While managing a $2 billion portfolio at Profit, he managed to obtain a BA in finance from the University of Maryland in just two-and-a-half years, as well as an MBA from Wharton. At 22, he was the youngest person ever to receive the CFA Charter. Moreover, he simultaneously managed the portfolio of a non-profit he founded called the LaKan Foundation.
After spending 11 years in the investment industry focusing on technology companies, Manpreet decided to re-join the dot-com world and started Seva Call, a virtual concierge service that seamlessly connects consumers with high quality local businesses over the phone.
