British Crown Prince Charles, who was on a short visit to India, celebrated his 65th Birthday at a Backwater Resort in Kerala, India before flying to Colombo for Commonwealth Meet. Nearly 30 Rooms of Kumarakom Lake Resort in Kottayam district of Kerala were booked for the Royal Party while its most coveted Presidential Suite  was dedicated to  the Prince and his Wife. According to its Booking Website, the Presidential Suite Costs around Rs 46000 or $800 per night.
The Presidential Suite offers a royal seclusion, Â and is the final word in traditional architectural charm, luxury and the ultimate in self-indulgence. With its very own view of the lake, a private pool, a private courtyard and regal interiors that exude the splendors of a prosperous era gone by.
Kumarakom Lake Resort is located on the shores of Lake Vembanad amid picturesque Backwaters of  Kerala.  Set in 25 acres of coconut groves, the resort offer an authentic Kerala experience and has an Ayurveda spa, pools, restaurants and houseboats.
Charles and his wife, Camilla, checked into their Presidential Suite  on Tuesday night . Around 400 police officers had taken over the security of the resort.  Even Kerala CM Oommen Chandy paid a visit to the Prince to greet him on his Birthday.
Hotel managers said Charles and Camilla had requested a ‘day of leisure’ on Wednesday but they had laid on a luxury houseboat and ‘cultural entertainment’ should they decide to venture outside of their room.
