Patna: Bihar Government has started an scheme to provide 24 hours electricity to 135 small and medium sized towns with population exceeding 30000. The Government would invest 1400 crores rupees in this scheme, which has a deadline of December 2014. The first phase would target 71 towns while the second phase would target 64 towns.
The Scheme aims at reducing transmission and distribution losses. Till now 15500 km long transmission wires in North Bihar and 14500 km of wires in South Bihar has been replaced.
