Nishant Kumar, the Son of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is richer than his father by more than 3 times. As per the recent property declarations, Â Nishant has property worth Rs 1.99 Crores, while CM Nitish Kumar has only Rs 68 Lakhs worth of property. None of them have any loans or any other type of liability pending.
It is not Nitish, but his son who owns ancestral property, which includes agricultural land at Kalyanbigha village in Nalanda district. Another plot of land in Patna’s Kankarbagh, a posh locality, is in Nishant’s name.
Nitish Kumar has only Rs 17,090 cash in hand, while his son has even less cash with him at Rs 7,095 only. Nitish Kumar however owns a santro car of 2003 model worth Rs 2.70 lakh.
The Chief Minister had declared income of Rs 1,41, 412 for self in the financial year 2012-13 as against his son’s income at Rs 4,02,250. He had filed income tax return of Rs 1,62,193 in 2010-11.
Statistics indicates that  financial fortunes of Nitish Kumar has shrunk consistently over the past two years, while that of Nishant has grown  by several times.
The Asset declaration is part of a mandatory routine exercise by Bihar Government Officials and Ministers, ever since 2010.
