Model and actress Arshi Khan attended a polio immunization camp on the eve of Women’s Day at her home-town in Bhopal.
The campaign was organized by local NGO and supported by the Health department of the UP State Government.
Pulse Polio is an immunization campaign by the Government of India to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio) in India by vaccinating all children under the age of five years against polio virus.
This project deals with the ways to fight poliomyelitis through a large scale immunization programme, co-operating with various international institutions, state governments and Non Governmental Organizations.
Arshi Khan exhorted all young mothers to get their kids vaccinated for polio and went door-to-door with officers and doctors of the health department and the Primary Health Centre. She visited over a 50 families promoting the message of Pulse Polio.
Afghanistan-born, Bhopal-educated Arshi Khan will be seen in India’s first mainline Bollywood 4D historical action film tentatively titled “The Last Emperor”. It will portray the historical chronology of events in the late 16 and early 17th century in Maharashtra and south India.
Arshi Khan was selected and crowned Miss Maharashtra Global Tourism last month. She will represent Maharashtra at Miss Global Tourism 2014, to be held in April.
