New Delhi:  Hendre Omkar Pravinchandra of New Delhi has topped the  Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) February 2014 Examinations conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Pravinchandra, having roll number 546110310 scored  317 out of 400 in the CMAT Exam taken by 88942 aspirants across the country.
The online test was conducted from February 20 to 24 for the academic year 2014-15 and the Results were declared yesterday evening.
Mikin Mayurbhai Shah, the Topper of CMAT February 2013 scored 301 marks securing All India Rank 5 this time. Mikin had the roll number 477216541.
CMAT February 2014 saw the lowest scoring pattern compared to all past CMATs.  The Maximum score declined from 355 in CMAT May 2013 to 326 in CMAT September 2013 to  317 in February 2014.
Further, only 5 Candidates could score over 300 this time compared to 20 Candidates in CMAT February 2013.
Talking to Shiksha.com  Mikin Shah explained the reason of overall low scoring pattern. “The paper pattern was much more difficult this year. As a result, fewer people managed to score high”, says Shah.
Highlights of the CMAT 2014 Results
- The top 19 ranks went to the boys only despite the fact that a record 33 thousand (40%) girls took the test.
- There were 438 students who scored zero and 1,771 who achieved negative score.
- The lowest scored was -45 (minus 45) as the test has negative markings also.
- The average score of students was 69.91 percent.
- CMAT Feb 2014 saw the lowest Scoring pattern ever. Only 5 students scored more than 300.
- The highest number of test takers were from Maharashtra, followed by Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
CMAT is conducted twice every year. Candidates can appear in both the tests and the  better of the two scores could be used for admission.
All AICTE approved B-Schools use CMAT Scores for admission to their Post-Graduate Management Programs. AICTE also plans to take CMAT off-shore and conduct it in South and Southeast Asian countries.
