Former Army Chief Gen. V K Singh to contest Election from Ghaziabad

New Delhi:  The BJP Tuesday named former army chief, Gen. (retd.) V.K.Singh as its candidate for the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency.

The seat is held by party president Rajnath Singh, who has shifted to Lucknow.

The party also announced Shibun Lyngdoh as its candidate from Shillong.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday had announced that the party’s core committee member Shazia Ilmi will contest the Lok Sabha polls from Ghaziabad constituency.

Ilmi, who lost the R.K. Puram assembly seat by a narrow margin, has agreed to contest from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, the party said.
