Poonam Mahajan is BJP Candidate from Mumbai North Central in Lok Sabha Polls

New Delhi:  The BJP Thursday came out with its third list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. Senior leader Sushma Swaraj will contest from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh while late Pramod Mahajan’s daughter Poonam Mahajan will be pitched from Mumbai North Central.

Poonam is married to Anand Rao Vejandla, an industrialist from Hyderabad.  Poonam had  lost the 2009 Maharashtra assembly elections against an MNS candidate from Ghatkopar West.

S.S. Ahluwalia replaced Jaswant Singh and will fight for the Darjeeling seat. A total of 75 candidates were announced.

Ram Kripal Yadav, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after quitting the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), will contest from Pataliputra against Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa.

Ananth Kumar said a decision on the Patna Sahib seat, from where Shatrughan Sinha is a Lok Sabha member, will be taken after consulting him.

In Bihar, Rajiv Pratap Rudy will contest from Saran, Kirti Azad from Darbhanga and Shahnawaz Hussain from Bhagalpur.

In Jharkhand, Jayant Sinha will contest from his father Yashwant Sinha’s constituency Hazaribagh.

Even as party leaders had earlier indicated that a decision on the constituency for prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi may be taken Thursday, no announcement was made.

However, Gujarat BJP leaders said Modi will contest from one seat in the state.
