Western Digital launches personal cloud solutions in India

New Delhi: US-based storage solutions provider Western Digital (WD) Thursday launched a personal cloud solutions product named “My Cloud” in India that enables users to organise, centralise, secure and access digital contents from anywhere in the world.

By connecting “My Cloud” device to internet users get anywhere, any device access that they can get from the public cloud, without having to pay monthly fees or giving up control to their personal data.

“With thousands of files spread across several different computing devices, digital chaos is a challenge that consumers face on a daily basis,” said Khalid Wani, WD’s sales director, branded products for India, Middle East and Africa.

“Consumers want access to all their data, all the time. WD’s My Cloud personal cloud storage is an easy-to-use, secure and cost effective storage solution that will empower consumers to live their digital lives without limits,” Wani said at a media conference here.

My Cloud is priced in the range of Rs.11,000 to Rs.15,000. Device for 2 terabyte (TB) of storage capacity comes with a price tag of Rs.10,999.

Price for 3 TB device is Rs.12,999 and 4 TB device comes with a price tag of Rs.14,999. One TB is equivalent to one trillion bytes.
