Disha Paul, a 21 year old model from Nashik in Maharashtra has been signed up by Chennai-based production and casting house Vridaavan Films in a six film deal for 2 years.
Meanwhile, the television gossip grapevine has it that Disha Paul has been approached for Bigg Boss 8. A friend of the young actress was quoted in the media as saying that Disha Paul has shown interest in the show, but in the light of her contract with Vrindaavan Talent Management, it seems unlikely how she will manage to juggle both jobs. Bigg Boss requires participants to be locked up in a house with little or no contact with the outside world for about 100 days and it will mean that Disha Paul will have to knock out hundred days out of her calendar for the popular reality show.

It is not clear if the contract has been signed, given the fact that there is a possibility that Bigg Boss may be taking a break this year. The Endemol-owned format of the Reality Show is likely to see a new avatar or modified format as two GECs Life OK and Sony – the original broadcaster of the first season of Bigg Boss in India, have shown interest in the show. With the ownership pattern of Colors changing hands, with the Mukesh Ambani controlled Reliance picking up a majority stake in the parent company as well as in Colors, it is likely that the show may shift to another broadcaster.
Says senior Bollywood journalist and Editor and Publisher of IndyaNewz.com, Flynn Remedios, the new owners of Colors may not be so inclined to continue Bigg Boss in its current format. It is likely that they may either give the show a pass this year or may demand a modified version.

There is also a possibility that other channels may be competing with each other for the mega-budget production which has been one the highest TRP grabbers in the past seasons. Adds Remedios, “There is not much news about Bigg Boss 8, this year, except for PR write ups. Colors has not made any statement and there is not much casting buzz either this year, a sure indication that things are in a flux when it comes to the popular and controversial Reality Show.”
