Ahead of the Railway Budget, Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda will meet General Managers, Divisional Railway Managers and other senior officials today to spell out his priorities and NDA government’s vision.
Gowda, who is aiming to improve efficiency and functioning of Railways, will address all the heads of departments including chiefs of production units and PSUs.
Railway Minister has marked certain issues which will be on top priority including the safety and security of passengers, improvement of amenities at rail premises. Gowda will also seek reduction in expenditure and prioritization of projects.

Gowda is also expected to seek innovative ideas in operation. Keeping the financial health in mind, Railways is also looking for fund infusion through FDI and PPP in major projects.Â
