Chandrababu Naidu Orders Inquiry Into Gail Tragedy

A massive fire broke out in an 18-inch pipeline near a state-owned refinery complex of GAIL due to the blast in the pipeline in Andhra’s Guntur district. 14 people are feared dead and 30  are said to be critically injured. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an inquiry into the tragedy.

The fire broke as a result of the explosion in the pipeline. The possibility of number of dead could rise. Meanwhile, the gas supply in the line has been cut off and the situation has been brought under control.

Though the main reason behind the blast has still not been ascertained as the focus at the moment is on rescue and relief operations. Eight fire tenders are at the accident spot and efforts are on to evacuate people.
