The Pagdi artist, Prof. Avantilal Chawla had not been able to fulfil the wish of Modi then but is ready with his 3-in-1 Pagdi design now. He will soon gift that to Modi.

Chawla is making a Pagdi which will have the essence of three states Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. He intends to gift the unique headgear to Modi. He had once made a Pagdi, which had been gifted to the then President APJ Abdul Kalam on his birthday in 2003, by Narendra Modi, who was the Gujarat CM then.
Chawla, who started making turbans when he was young considers the headgear to be a matter of prestige and tradition and does not want the art to die down.The artist has made 200 types of turbans in the last 25 years from 1988 and ties turbans to the bridegrooms in 5 minutes, free of cost.Chawla does thisjust to bolster tradition and not to make money.
