BJP says violence against party workers has increased under Mamata, TMC retorts

Kolkata, June 15 (ANI): Reacting over BJP’s comment that violence against political workers has increased under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee said that BJP is trying to stir sentiments against the West Bengal government for wrong reasons. Chatterjee added that Banerjee is working for peace and tranquillity and development in the province.

Meanwhile, A four member National Delegation team of BJP has reached Kolkata. The team will now travel to Ilambazar in Birbhum district to take stock of the situation that has prevailed after the killing of saffron party worker Rahim Sheikh. The killing caused clashes between BJP and TMC workers as the saffron party has alleged that TMC members were involved in the killing.

The team will visit Ilambazar where BJP worker Rahim Sheikh was allegedly killed by the ruling TMC workers on June 7.

The delegation comprises BJP national vice-president and MP Balbir Punj, MP Kirti Azad, Siddharth Nath Singh, Central Observer of West Bengal BJP and party’s National Minority Morcha president Abdul Rashid Ansari.
