A major drama has unfolded in the political arena with BJP led NDA government sending feelers to eight governors to step down from their posts. The Central government is looking at replacing the eight governors who were appointed during the Congress led UPA-II tenure.
The governors include Sheila Dikshit in Kerala, M K Narayanan in West Bengal, Kamla Beniwal in Gujarat, Margaret Alva in Rajasthan, BL Joshi in UP, K Sankaranarayanan in Maharashtra, JB Patnaik in Assam and Devendra Konwar in Tripura.
Uttar Pradesh governor BL Joshi has already resigned from his post.
In an exclusive interview with NNIS, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that the Supreme Court had already given a verdict on this issue and if BJP respects the SC decision then they cannot ask the Governors to step down.
