Although Samajwadi Party has dismissed claims that there has been law and order issue in Uttar Pradesh, but the situation paints a different picture. While the news of loot, rape, gang-rape have made the beeline to the front page, authorities have once again failed to assess the situation. The recent being a seven year-old girl being allegedly gang-raped by three men in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district.

The incident took place on Sunday when the girl went to the field to relieve herself. According to the kin of the victim, Kallu’s son abducted the minor and took her to the nearby coverts and raped her along with two of his friends. Delay in registering the case and taking the victim for medical examination has once again raised many questions on the state authority. Meanwhile, victim’s relative demanded capital punishment for the culprits.

One of the accused has been arrested and being interrogated while the two others managed to escape and efforts are on to nab them. Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered and the girl was taken to the nearby government hospital where her condition is said to be critical.Â
