The Delhi University has remained firm on its stand to retain the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) and instead twisted it a little to make it compliant with the National Policy on Education (NPE). The UGC letter seeking a review on the 4-year course came after the NDA took office. The BJP in its election manifesto had promised to scrap this programme.
