Following the demise of the Superintendent of Police Nityananda Goswami during an encounter in Assam, Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of State for home affairs, visited the state to meet CM Tarun Gogoi and discuss the law and order situation. The two also attended the last rites ceremony of Goswami.
