Acid attack is one of the most horrifying forms of gender-based violence and a growing phenomenon in India which needs immediate attention. While a fortnight ago a Delhi court sentenced a man to life in prison for throwing acid on his beloved, leading her to death. The court has termed the acid attack one of the ‘most horrifying’ forms of gender-based violence. A new case of acid attack surfaced in Asansol where a victim was attacked by a jilted lover.
