Taking a dig at former Army chief and Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh, the Congress demanded Singh’s resignation from the council of minister over his attack on Army chief-designate Lt General Dalbir Singh Suhag, who is scheduled to take over as the new Army chief in August.

While speaking to media persons outside Parliament, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury criticised VK Singh and termed the incident unfortunate. The Upper House parliamentarian also observed that personal politicking is not accepted in both politics and Armed forces. The MP also asked the minister to take bigger responsibility and not to sent negative message to the Army.Â
The Congress leader also asked the minister to step down from his post to keep the image of the new government. She also said the Congress will watch the new government’s action as they have boasted many things earlier.
