Modi inaugurated the new Supreme Court building of Bhutan on Day One of his visit.

Modi further addressed the joint session of parliament of Bhutan and laid the foundation stone of the 600 MW Kholongchu hydropower project.

During the meeting that lasted for about an hour, Prime Minister Modi invited the Bhutanese King and his wife Jetsun Pema to visit India.

The meeting that was held was described as “very good”.

Both the King and the Indian PM later posed for photographs.

Modi was presented with a guard of honour at the palace and the national anthems of the two countries were played.
