Happy faces can be seen busily shopping in markets across the nation as Ramzan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims, is set to begin tomorrow with new moon expected to be sighted tonight. Muslim residents in Mumbai are also getting ready to observe Ramzan, the holy month during which they believe the Quran was revealed to the Prophet.The month-long fasting will culminate in the Id-ul-Fitr celebrations next month
PREPARATIONS FOR RAMZAN IN FULL SWING ACROSS NATION
Fasting during the month of Ramzan is one of the five pillars of Islam, said a shopkeeper in Mumbai when NNIScaught up with him.. He added  that the sale of  dates and other dry fruits is soaring  as Muslims wake up before dawn for the ‘sehri’ meal, mainly  comprising dry fruits, abstaining from food and water during the day and finally breaking their fasts in the evening.
Another MumbaikarRaza Khan, who had come out for shopping for his family members before starting the fasts said the Muslim devotees pray to Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins.. They also involve themselves in charity to help the needy and spread the message of Allah.
