Chennai: The makers of upcoming Tamil-English bilingual biopic Ramanujan have launched a game application called “Nine Magic Tiles” in association with HeyMath! as a tribute to the unsung Indian hero Srinivasa Ramanujan and his lifelong love for numbers.
“We made this film in order to take Ramanujan’s inspiring story to all sections of society, especially the youngsters of this country. So, when the idea of a GameApp came up in one of our discussions with HeyMath!, we realized this would be a great way to reach out to kids and teenagers,” read a statement from the film’s production company Camphor Cinema.
The game can be played by children (of age six years and above) and adults too. The app has background music, which was recorded in Germany.
In the first part of the tune, one can tangibly hear numbers one to nine, after which the music abounds with various permutations and combinations of numbers. This gives the players a sneak peek into the music of the film.
“Camphor Cinema’s vision of creating a biopic on the life of the great Srinivasa Ramanujan struck an instant chord for us at HeyMath! as it contains several messages we believe in as an organization.
“This movie will motivate students to push the boundaries of their own mathematical thinking,” said Nirmala Sankaran, co-founder, HeyMath!, in the statement.
Directed by Gnana Rajasekaran, “Ramanujan” features Abhinay Vaddi as the mathematics genius and a host of other actors such as Bhama, Nizhagal Ravi, Radha Ravi, Sarath Babu, Abbas, Thalaivasal Vijay, Y.Gee Mahendra and Suhasini Mani Ratnam.
