Parvez Rasool becomes 1st Kashmir Valley Player of Indian Cricket Team

Off spinner and pride of Jammu and Kashmir Parvez Rasool became the first cricketer from the valley to represent India in a One Day International when he stepped out to field against Bangladesh in the series opener.

The 25 year old who hails from BijBehara  of  Anantnag  district finally broke into the team in the on-going series after his failure to bag an opportunity in playing XI during 2013 tour of Zimbabwe.

Rasool pocketed two wickets giving away 60 runs on his international debut.

The young lad from valley was also the first cricketer to get an IPL contract when he signed for the defunct Pune Warriors. The off-spinner had an outstanding performance for Jammu and Kashmir in the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy season.
