Union Minister of Water Resources Uma Bharti is of the opinion that development in India should be planned without tampering with nature.
Uma said that development should be based on people’s movement so that the public takes the onus of protecting the environment they live in.
Bharti added that she had met Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to ensure a river friendly development of the national capital.
Uma Bharti said that her government would work in tandem with the Environment and Tourism Ministry for the upkeep of river bodies in the country.
