UTTARAKHAND CATASTROPHE TURNS ONE YEAR OLD, BUT THE SCARS STILL REMAIN
The Uttarakhand tragedy turns one year old today.  Thousands became victims of in nature’s fury. Several got displaced and many remain untraced till date. The skeletons found in the valley are a stark reminder of nature at its wildest. On this very day last year when it started raining in Uttarakhand, people thought they were early rains, But what followed was a nightmare for many. It eventually turned out to be nature ringing the death knell of hundreds of local inahabitants . The first signs of tragedy were visible on 16th June when a torrents of  water came  gushing down the mountains, sweeping away everything that came in its way, People remained  stuck at various points from where moving to  safety was difficult. Houses fell like packs of cards;  families were seen wailing and grieving over the massive loss of life and property, A year later the survivors  recount the horror.
