New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Thursday announced a new 24X7 television channel for the northeast region.
“A new channel named ‘Arun Prabha’, which will be a 24×7 channel, will be started in the northeast region,” Jaitley said while tabling the union budget in the parliament.
He also announced a sum of Rs.1,000 crore for rail connectivity and Rs.2,000 crore for road connectivity in the northeast region.

The railways is expected to take up eco-tourism and education tourism services in the northeast.
There are 23 projects under way in the region, of which 11 are national projects.
