Chennai Mishap: Death Toll Rises To 33, Many Still Trapped

The death toll in the multi-storeyed building collapse has risen to 33 even while three more survivors were pulled out from under the debris. Nearly 70 hours after the building collapsed. 12 people are still feared trapped and rescue operations are underway to bring them out safely.

After three more were rescued the total number of survivors has reached 27. The tragedy occurred on June 28 when the 11-storeyed residential building collapsed.

The rescue personnel from multiple agencies pulled out 12 more bodies since Monday night, taking the toll to 33.

The three survivors, including two from Andhra Pradesh, have been hospitalised and their condition is stated to be stable.
