Tapas Pal’s comment on ensuring the rape of CPM women has faced flak from various quarters. Speaking to nnis Congress MP, Adhir Ranjan Choudhury said that the comment was beneath contempt.
TAPAS PAL COMMENT BENEATH CONTEMPT CONG TO NNIS
While the Tapas Pal comment has irked one and all, his wife has apologised but has also defended her husband saying that her husband meant no harm. She said the comment came as a lot of wrong was being done to TMC workers. It is hazy recorded footage which shows the two term MP threatening CPM and talking of getting CPM women raped. Reports now are suggesting that while TMC has distanced itself a written explanation from Tapas Pal has been taken. CPM has planned to move National Commission for Women against Pal and take up the matter with Lok Sabha speaker. It is learnt the comments were made after winning the general elections addressing workers of his party, the TMC, in a West Bengal village in Nadia district. Adhir Ranjan Choudhury condemned the comment while speaking to nnis.
