New Delhi: Karva Chauth fever gripped the city’s biggest fashion event – Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW). From model Krishna Somani, choreographer Aparna Bahl to Sonu Wassan, some of the best known faces in fashion pages broke their fast amidst the hustle-bustle of fashion show.
On Saturday, many married women in northern India kept a fast from the sunrise to the moonrise for their husband’s long life and well-being.
As Karva Chauth fell on the fourth day day of the fashion extravaganza Saturday, the WIFW organisers dedicated an area at the venue — Pragati Maidan – for those who were observing the fast to ensure those women can follow the tradition without missing any show.
From pooja to katha, everything was arranged as per the norm and it was attended by people from design fraternity and others as well.
Sunil Sethi, president of the organising body — Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) — was also involved in arrangements to make it a fuss-free affair.
Interestingly, despite being so occupied with the fashion week fever, the women broke the fast in the presence of their husbands once the moon came out.
All in all, it was a day dedicated to the festivity of Karva Chauth.
