Gaya: The City of Gaya has recorded the lowest even temperature in Bihar this year. The minimum temperature at Gaya yesterday (4.2 deg Celsius) was lower than that of New Delhi (6 deg. Celsius) and Shimla (6.2 deg Celsius).
Interestingly, Delhi was reported to have recorded lower minimum temperature than cities like London and hill stations like Shimla and Mussoorie, on Monday.In contrast, the temperature of Capital city Patna was 6 degree centigrade, albeit quite foggy.
The cold condition in Bihar is going to worsen further in coming days. The weather forecast has predicted further drop in Mercury on Wednesday. It would remain foggy and cloudy for next one week. The condition is likely to improve in first week of January, after which it would worsen further.
This drop in nothing new to Bihar. On 7 January 2013, in early morning, mercury dipped to a record low to 0 °C in Gopalganj, 0.2 °C in Jehanabad, 0.7 °C in Vaishali, 1 °C in Patna and other cities.
