Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has been booked in a court case related to the controversial bollywood movie PK, for allegedly hurting the sentiments of Hindus.
The petitioner, Rakesh Dutta Mishra who is General secretary of Bharatiya Jan Kranti Dal, filed the case before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patna.
Other co-accused in this case are, lead actors Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, director Rajkumar Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Censor Board chairperson Leela Samson.
Jitan Manjhi was made an accused for allowing the film to be screened in the state and making it tax-free.
The case was filed under various IPC sections including 124A (Sedition), 153A (Promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion, race, etc), 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings), and 298 (Uttering words, etc, with intent to wound religious feelings of any person).
