Delhi: Former IPS officer and newly inducted BJP member Kiran Bedi will begin her election campaigning and road show from today.
In a parallel development, the Bharatiya Janata Party parliamentary board will meet today in the national capital and could take a decision on announcing her name as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Delhi Assembly election.
While the opinion Polls predicting hung parliament in Delhi, the induction of Kiran Bedi is bound to alter the vote equation. BJP leader Jagdish Mukhi said today that he was confident of BJP’s victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls. Mukhi said that the fight is basically between three major parties- Congress, BJP and AAP, but the people of Delhi will surely choose BJP as it has worked for their welfare. He added that the Chief Ministerial candidate will be chosen by the party’s central leadership only after the polls are over and the decision shall be respected by all party workers and leaders.
Yesterday she addressed the party workers and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is her actual inspiration for joining politics. Bedi said that she wants to make Delhi a strong state as it has faced misgovernance in the past. She hit at Congress government and said that it was not a proper government for Delhi and BJP will now give a strong and stable government to the capital as well as nation.
