PATNA: The Political situation in Bihar has turned red hot due the internal rift between the members of ruling Janata Dal United.
The Party seems to be divided between the supporters of Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and his opponents.A JDU Party Legislators’ meeting scheduled to be held today would decide the future course of action.
Manjhi has described the meeting “unauthorized” and has instead called a legislature party meeting in his capacity as leader of the House on February 20 at his official residence.
While Manjhi has stated that only the leader of the house has power to convene such meeting, his opponents claim that the Party President also has the power to convene it. Manjhi has claimed the support of 31 out of 111 party legislators. He might get the support of 25 other SC Legislators.
According to a Report in Times of India, Mr. Manjhi compared Nitish Kumar with Bhishma Pitamah of Mahabharata, while speaking at Saharsa yesterday. He said that Nitish was watching him dishonored in the same manner Bhishma idly watched the cruelty of Kauravas. He also blamed Nitish for pulling the strings behind the scene to humiliate him. Manjhi said that it was a do and die moment for him and he won’t sit idle
Other Political PArties have not revealed their course of action yet. Senior BJP Leader Sushil Kumar Modi said that the party is keeping a “wait and watch” approach over the situation. RJD and Congress, which support the Government from outside, have also stayed silent till now.
