New Delhi/ Chennai: Political leaders in India condemned German university for rejecting an Indian student citing ‘rape problem in India’.

India has condemned the German Professor’s action
A German university professor’s email to an Indian student’s application rejecting his internship citing the ‘rape problem in India’ as reason went viral on Sunday. Following the same, German ambassador to India Michael Steiner responded to the same and issued a strongly worded letter to the professor, condemning her action.
The professor later apologized for the denial to the Indian student. The email said: “Unfortunately, I don’t accept any Indian male students for internships. We hear a lot about the rape problem in India which I cannot support. I have many female students in my group, so I think this is something I cannot support.”
