Belgium and Cyprus took to the training pitch on Friday (March 27) ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifying match in Brussels. The visitors, Cyprus, sit third in Group B with 6 points after four matches, Belgium are one point behind them but with a game in hand.
Belgium’s coach Marc Wilmots told reporters it would be important for his team to remain calm and not rush for the victory.
“They did win in Bosnia, one to two, so this team deserves respect. We will have a video session here at 7.30pm. We noticed a few strong and weak points that I will not reveal. We’ll discuss it with the players to keep them informed about what is going on and we’ll discuss the team we think they’ll present,” said Wilmots.
Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku will miss the match because of a hamstring injury. The Everton forward was hurt during his side’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday (March 22).
Following this fixture Belgium must travel to Jerusalem to take on Israel on Tuesday (March 31).
