Patna: Statewide Bihar Bandh has been called on March 30 to protest against the Police Lathicharge on Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists on March 26. The Police Lathicharge had injured over 100 activists, who were protesting against the deteriorating education system in the state. As per reports, the condition of 12 activists is still critical in hospital.
The Bandh is likely to have considerable impact in the state. Shops would remain close and so would the public transport.
ABVP will also hold a Torch rally on March 29 in protest against the police brutality.
The incident took place on March 26 when ABVP activists staged a protest in Patna over the condition of Education System in the state. Things took bad turn and there were some student-Police clashes. The police used batons to deal with protesters and there were incidences of firing in the air by Police.
BJP, the main opposition party in the state legislative assembly yesterday staged a walkout demanding an explanation from the Government over Lathi-charge on Students.
