Port Louis: India and Mauritius have signed five agreements during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the country, the most important of which is the MoU on cooperation on ocean economy.

The MoUs were signed in Port Louis last night in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Mauritian counterpart Sir Anerood Jugnauth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in the Mauritian capital Port Louis yesterday after completing the Seychelles leg of his tour, will be the chief guest at the Independence Day celebrations in Mauritius today. He will also address the National Assembly of the country.
India even pledged a concessional line of credit of USD 500 million for civil infrastructure projects.
Mauritius PM, Anerood Jugnauth, spoke about India’s assistance to Mauritius to improve connectivity with its southern islands. Modi reached Port Louis earlier in the day, soon after which he called upon Mauritius President Rajkeswur Purryag. Modi is scheduled to have extensive meetings with his counterpart Sir Anerood Jugnauth to discuss bilateral matters to strengthen ties between the nations
