Just a couple of days after Apple announced the final release date for the Apple Watch, PREMIUM ONE, the first full product line for charging the Apple Watch and iPhone/iPad, will go live on Kickstarter today.
The PREMIUM ONE project has been introduced to the media during the Apple Event this week in San Francisco, outside the Yerba Buena Center of Arts.
Last September, when Apple introduced the Apple Watch to the public, two things became quickly clear. First, the Apple Watch needs to be charged every day, and second, it relies on a connected iPhone to perform many of its major functions.
Enblue Technology developed working prototypes, based on a modular concept, which addresses the need of the future Apple Watch user and gives him the option of making a choice. “The TOWER” holds the watch’s magnetic charger securely in place and hides the cable through a screw less magnetic cover.
In addition to a Single Stand, Enblue Technology offers a Dual Dock which charges the Apple Watch and one iPhone, another option is the Triple Dock which can hold the Apple Watch, one iPhone and one iPad. Top of The Line will be a Kickstarter Exclusive offer, a gold plated Dual Dock which aims at the Apple Watch Edition.
Kickstarter has been chosen to bring the project to life and to fund the pre-production setup. The Project will be initiated by Enblue Technology as a truly global task. Assembling will take place in the US and in Germany.
Major components of the PREMIUM ONE LINE are CNC machined from billets of aircraft grade aluminum. Available in three colors, Cool Silver, Magic Black and a combination out of Cool Silver and hand selected Mahogany wood. The docks will come with its own MFI Lightning cables for the iPhone/iPad section and use the inductive Apple Watch charging cable, delivered with the Apple Watch. It can be easily installed and fast removed for traveling. Rewards on Kickstarter start with 45 USD for the Single Stand and ends at 500 USD for the gold plated Dual Docking station. Assembling and shipping will take place in the US and in Germany.
“We put ourselves fully into the user position and researched certain scenarios during our development. Since we had no access to any prototypes yet, we needed to 3D print several mock-ups for visual testing,” Michael Schoening, CEO, Enblue Technology, said.
PREMIUM ONE will work with any Apple Watch or wristband size. The docks with iPhone charging add-on will allow users to even use devices with thicker cases.
