Believed to be the world’s oldest person, Okawa died of old age in a nursing home in the western Japanese city of Osaka.

Born in 1898, Okawa married in 1919 and had three children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The centenarian reportedly never had a major illness in her life.

Now the world’s oldest person is believed to be Gertrude Weaver (116) of Arkansas — who says the key to a long life is treating other people kindly.
