Patna: President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the Centenary Year Celebrations of Patna High Court today. He arrived at Patna yesterday evening after attending the 4th Annual Convocation of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur.

Chief Justice of India H L Dattu and Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda would also remain present during the Centenary Celebrations.
A Postage Stamp would be launched by Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Communication and IT, on the occasion of 100 years of Patna High Court.
Patna High Court was established on 3 February 1916 and was later affiliated under the Government of India Act 1915.
The foundation-stone of the High Court Building was laid on Monday, 1 December 1913 by late Viceroy and Governor-General of India, Charles Hardinge of Penshurst. The Patna High Court building on its completion was formally opened by the same Viceroy on 3 February 1916. Justice Edward Maynard Des Champs Chamier was the first Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
