Ready to take on any emergency in Kashmir, says Indian army

Srinagar: Indian army official, Lieutenant General Subrata Saha (GOC Chinar Corps) has said all the arrangements are in place to deal with any emergency situation that may come up in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir.

Heavy rains and a landslide in the Himalayan region of Kashmir killed 17 people, as authorities continued working to rescue stranded villagers. On Tuesday, army choppers hovered over the overcast sky of the valley to take stock of the situation. Saha said they are sharing information with all their counterparts across the region and also with the government.
