Allahabad: Police in Allahabad city on Wednesday (April 01) baton charged students protesting against leak of question paper of preliminary examination of Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Services (UPPCS) 2015.

Hundreds of youths gathered in front of the headquarters of UP Public Service Commission, which conducts the exams, shouted slogans and demanded suspension of its chairman. Superintendent of Police (SP), Arun Kumar Pandey, said the students were not allowed to hold any protest near the offices of the commission.

The first paper of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Services (UPPCS) 2015 preliminary examinations was leaked in Lucknow. Police found that the question paper of general studies subject was uploaded on WhatsApp, an instant mobile messaging app.

Authorities have cancelled the examination. Since the paper leak, students have been protesting across the state.
