Transporters stopped moving goods in and out of New Delhi. The order was issued by National Green Tribunal which barred 10-year-old diesel vehicles from plying in the national capital.

NGT has banned diesel vehicles that are over 10 years old from the capital and its surrounding areas, in a bid to clean up air that one prominent study this year found to be the world’s dirtiest. Members also met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to solve their issue.

General Secretary of Delhi Goods Transport Association, Rajinder Kapoor, said supply of milk, medicines and other such essential commodities will be kept out of the strike. President of Delhi Transport Association, Ravinder Khurana said they are bound to continue the strike since their demands are not met.
