Babulal Gaur, a 85 Year old Senior BJP Leader and the Madhya Pradesh Home Minister, has twice been caught making indecent remarks against women which led to heavy criticism from the Opposition Parties, Women Right Activists and the Social Media folks.
In June 2014, in response to the Badaun Gang Rape Case Babulal Gaur Yadav described rape as a social crime and said “sometimes it’s right, sometimes it’s wrong”. This fueled the public resentment over the gang-rape and hanging of two teenage girls in Badaun Uttar Pradesh. His party BJP distanced itself from his comment. Opposition Congress Party’s took to streets demanded the resignation of state Home Minister Babulal Gaur and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

In May 2015, during a functon at BJP headquarters in Bhopal, he narrated that during his youth days a local leader’s wife in Russia had asked him how his dhoti remained in place without a belt or a zip. In a witty mood Gaur had replied her that he couldn’t teach her how to wear it, but he could certainly teach her how to remove it, but only in private.

His Dhoti remarks have been criticized by Opposition Congress. Party Spokesperson Shobha Oza demanded an apology from him. “This exposes his and his party’s mindset as far as women are concerned. Gaur should immediately apologize for his comment,” she said.
