Bomb Blast in Sealdah-Krishnanagar local train in Kolkata injures 17

Barrackpore: At least 17 people were injured after a low-intensity bomb blast on the Sealdah-Krishnanagar local train in Kolkata on Tuesday morning.

The train was on the Sealdah main section and was probably the first morning local. The blast took place at 3:55 am after the train left Titagarh.

According to police, passengers travelling in the fifth bogey hurled bombs at each other after a scuffle. All injured have been admitted to RG Kar medical college hospital in Kolkata.

Many are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment. Police, fire brigade and railway rescue teams have rushed to the spot.

Train services on the Sealdah-Barrackpore of the main suburban section have been suspended. Further details are awaited.
