Meerut: VHP Leader Sadhvi Prachi today raked a controversy by saying that Bollywood actor Salman Khan got bail so easily just because ‘he is a Khan’. Salman yesterday was granted bail in 2002 Hit and Run Case. She said that had he not been a Khan, justice would have been done to the poor victims.
Prachi went on to say that Khan has no right to have a quarter (alcohol) and keep thrashing poor on the pavements. The VHP leader also slammed Salman’s supporter and singer Abhijit who called poor victim who was sleeping on the pavement as ‘dogs’. Prachi said that strict action should be taken against people with such thoughts.
On Friday, the Bombay High Court suspended the five-year jail term given by a session court to the actor. Special public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said Justice AM Thipsay directed Salman to furnish a fresh bail bond of Rs.30,000 to the Mumbai sessions court.
